2010 VHSA Rule Changes

Hunter Classics: The Virginia Horse Shows Association will now recognize Hunter Classics and the points will be included in the respective divisions for year-end points. Points for the Classics are the same as the divisions (i.e., 1st-30 pts; 2nd-25 pts; 3rd-20 pts; 4th-15 pts; 5th-14 pts; 6th-13 pts)

Amateur Owner 3'3: The Virginia Horse Shows Association will now recognize the Amateur Owner 3'3" as part of the VHSA year-end awards program. This division will not be split by age as the Amateur Owner 3'6" is.

Small Hunter
:
The Virginia Horse Shows Association has lowered the jump height for the Small Hunter to 3'0".

VHSA/EMO Insurance Agency Medal Finals: At the VHSA Medal Finals, two disobediences by a horse or pony will eliminate the finalist (previously three disobediences). The three disobediences will remain at all qualifying classes.

VHSA Pony Breeding Amateur Handler Class:  To be shown on the line by an amateur. To be judged 100% on showmanship, turn-out and conditioning of the animal. Any age pony may be shown. Ponies will be walked and/or jogged. In order to accrue points towards the VHSA Pony Breeding Amateur Handler Class the handler must be a current VHSA member and the animal must be recorded with the VHSA. The amateur with the most points at the year-end will receive the Eileen Beckman Amateur Handler Champion Perpetual Trophy that will be presented at the VHSA Awards Ceremony in December of each year.

Returned Check Policy
:
Any person or persons who submits a check to the VHSA that is returned due to insufficient funds will receive an invoice from the VHSA for the amount of the check as well as a $50 penalty fee. At this time, the person or persons will be considered not in good standing, points will not count and all privileges will be suspended. Privileges will not be reinstated until a valid money order or cashier's check is received in the VHSA office. If the VHSA office does not receive the entire amount due within thirty (30) days from the date of the invoice, the person or persons name will be posted on the VHSA website as not in good standing and why.

~ UPDATED REGULAR POINTS ~

The points are now available as a link so our members can click on their own horses and print out their horse's show record.  This will allow each member to pinpoint where any discrepancies may appear.  Click on the "Standings" Link below and scroll down to your respective Division(s) under the "Regular Member Shows" listings.

Please submit any discrepancies to the VHSA office using the Points Tracking Sheet and indicate by circling the show where our records do not match.
(Points Tracking Sheet)No other format will be accepted.  On the Points Tracking Sheet only list one horse and one division per sheet.  Do not list multiple horses/divisions on one sheet.  Incomplete information, i.e., horse show, show date will be returned.

These points include shows held on or before August 1, 2010
With the exception of:
06/29-07/04/10 - NCHJA
